Meet The Scotts
When Mark and Kimberly Scott first laid eyes on the property, rising above the eastern ridge of Napa Valley just above the Silverado Country Club, they knew that this was to be their future home, if fate would have it. And it did. Now five years later they are carrying on the tradition of producing high-quality, premium wine from the land. This has become a labor of love for them – overseeing the grapes, ensuring that the harvest is picked at the prime time, and that the final production of the wine surpasses expectations. Our Vineyard History
Planted by legendary viticulturist Sal Renteria in conjunction with Mike Moone, a wine industry icon (former CEO/President of Beringer, founder of Luna Vineyards and Moone Tsai) to create an iconic Napa Valley Cabernet. The pair deeply believed in the potential of this vineyard site based on their extensive experience in the wine business. When the Scotts purchased the property, they were drawn to the magic of this estate vineyard block and continue to shepherd this fine wine.
The volcanic soil of the vineyard, which sits above Silverado Country Club at an elevation of 380 feet above the valley floor, provides for warm days and cooler evenings (revitalizing the fruit each night), which gives the wine a distinct flavor profile unique to the Eastern Napa Mountains, resting just below Atlas Peak AVA. Winemaker Shawna Miller has been making wine from this vineyard since the inaugural vintage in 2011.
Bauer, Embassador to the People
Around Kamber Cellars, Bauer – the big man, the grand poobah, head honcho, the big enchilada – is just a complete love bug and thinks he's human. He would much rather while away the hours with other humans than dogs. Bauer's favorite toy is a squeaky ball, though he's rather protective over his own jug of wine (as you can see). His favorite past times are running alongside the golf cart, playing catch, and swimming all day long. Woof woof.
Stella the Queen
Being the little lady that rules our roost, reigns over Kamber Cellars as "Her Highness" the Queen, the all-star of our team, and the one we bow to, Stella poo-poos the idea of any nonsense. We also refer to Stella as "The Mystery Cat" as she does most of her work at night, then sleeps all day. As you can see, Stella helps with the paper work as well, making sure we dot our i's and cross our t's. Meow.
